ooShirts Custom Shirts Review

ooShirts seems like one of those companies that will upset the current order and piss a few companies off if they can get enough traction in the market. Their core principals struck me as pretty awesome:

  1. We get it right the first time
  2. We value open and frequent communication
  3. We keep it simple

That was enough for me to want to do business with them, so I went ahead and got my (admittedly simple) design together in Photoshop and started the process. I'll address each principal as it applied to my project.

We get it right the first time

They surely did. Everything from choosing my shirt type to getting my design approved to the fit of the shirts themselves was clear cut and exactly how they outlined. They had a really wide selection of t-shirt types from brands you've heard of (Gildan, Hanes, Anvil, etc) and their color/size selections cover the entire spectrum.

I was told upfront that the shirts I selected would not provide the absolute best print quality, but that was something I was willing to trade off for having a comfy 50/50 blend shirt. My shirts arrived just a hair under two weeks after I ordered them and I was pleasantly surprised at how the shirts looked and felt. If this wasn't their absolute best print quality, I think the other t-shirt companies I got samples from are in trouble.

We value open and frequent communication

This one is pretty straightforward and can be summed up concisely: at any given time I knew exactly what stage of design/printing my shirts were at. I received consistent status updates via email that actually kept my anticipation levels high and even received a satisfaction survey a few days after receiving my shirts.

As I stated above, I was even given a small warning that the material I chose for my shirt isn't ideal for printing on and they gave me suggestions for comparably priced materials.

This is clearly a company that cares about customer satisfaction and one that sweats the details to make sure their customers are happy.

We keep it simple

I tried to be mindful of their three principals as I went through each step of the creation process and I can say that their checkout is definitely one of the best I've used. The fact that they're so transparent with their pricing/quotes makes it incredibly easy to compare different shirt colors and materials and even save orders for later.

If you already have a design created and are looking to get it printed quickly and easily (and shipped for free!) you can literally have your order placed and ready to rock in a manner of minutes. Again, compared to the hassle some other companies put me through (I have to call you to finish the order process? Really?), their site sets a new standard for which all other custom shirt printers should be held to.

In Summary

ooShirts met the three criteria I was looking for when I undertook this project:

  1. Reasonably priced
  2. Great selection of shirt colors/sizes
  3. Quick shipping

It seems like these things should be common when looking for custom shirts online, but you'd be surprised how many hoops you have to jump through for other companies in the t-shirt printing biz. I'm glad I found them and will definitely be using them for all my shirt-related projects going forward. Speaking of which, I'll have a site set up shortly to showcase my design and make it available for purchase. I think the majority of you will appreciate the content and quality of the shirts when they start shipping.
