Resolutions

We’ve come to my favorite part of each year: the very beginning. I, like so many others, take this clean slate and reflect on what I could be doing better and where I want to be this time next year. So, without further ado, here’s my terse list of resolutions:

  • Screw losing weight, I want to get my BMI down between 16-18% by summer (currently 21% as of this writing).
  • I want to sleep less without sacrificing energy.
  • I want to start my own business in the wake of this shitty economy.
  • I want to blog more and really pay attention to my site.
  • I want to do more personal video work.  It’s something I love and I’ve been neglecting it.
  • I want to have a Macbook Air by this time next year so I can do my thing regardless of where I am.
  • I want to be a good provider.
  • I want to work on my relationships, both existing and new ones.
  • I want to call people back more often, and promptly.

That’s it.  Some are predictable while others are innately “me”.

After Quite a Bit of Work

I can officially say that I’ve finally designed (and am happy with) a new theme for this site.  The current one, known as Color Paper, is a good indication of the look I’m going for, but has become too widely used for me to be able to continue using it and still call myself a designer.  This new layout will have a great many cool things integrated like Twitter updates, Flickr feed, and Last.fm recently listened music; basically a hub for all of my Web 2.0 activities.  I’m going for a very grungy look/feel complete with multiple textures and splashes of colors.  Overall, I think it will be a good start to springboard my freelance work.
