Don’t get me wrong, I love Wordpress 2.7, but there are just some strange things I think need to be worked out. I’ve already put in my two cents to the developers about this, but it’s in regards to plugins. This version of my site is the first real venture I’ve had into a full blown, custom-designed, chock-full-of-plugins Wordpress outing. I’ve noticed that plugins decide to live pretty much wherever they want to, making it difficult to find all of their settings quickly.
After using cforms I decided it’s not really for me, but I do like that they add their settings as, essentially, a separate section of the sidebar. Think we can get all devs to start doing this so we can consolidate where all of our plugin settings live?

I generally save my critiques of software, albeit a webapp or an installable package, until I get a chance to use either a Release Candidate or the final product, but I really have nothing but (mostly) good things to say about the new version of Wordpress (2.7 beta 3) and in the spirit of being first on the job, let me tell you a little about why I like it.
