...but that didn't stop folks from turning out in numbers to make their voices heard. Through the wind and the snow and bitter cold of November in New York City, protestors gathered to both listen to and tell the stories of their experience with the criminal justice system. Whether it was firsthand, something that happened to a friend of family member, or through their own investigation, everyone preset was fully rallying behind the cause. These demonstrations here and throughout the country worked, as the First Step Act was signed into law just weeks after we filmed and released this video in partnership with #cut50 (now dream.org).
